Different Types of Memphis Divorces
by in General
As any respected Memphis divorce lawyer will tell you, there are three ways in which a divorce can be procured. First there is the true uncontested divorce. In this instance, both parties agree to settle all their matters through negotiation. Albeit custody, medical expense issues, maintenance; or any matter that needs to be discussed.
Second is the potentially uncontested divorce. This type of divorce occurs when one party in the action has already sought counsel. Divorce papers have been served with issues spelled out. If the party being served agrees to some, but not all of the included stipulations, they are said to partly agree. There may be only one disputed area such as Memphis homes, or two or three others. In this case you would then hire your own legal counsel and prepare a response as well as a proposal of settlement to the disputed aspects.
The last one is the true contested divorce, where the couple cannot seem to agree on anything except the fact that you both want a divorce. These divorces lead to lengthy discussion between the lawyers and their litigants, and end up being quite costly. Be careful of these divorces. What you fight so hard to keep may quickly be lost in lawyers fees.
