November Regionals
Hi Woods & Waters, things got pretty heated at Regionals, but our talking points were finally listed on the board for prioritizing at next Regionals in January. Of course, I had to make a complete fool of myself to do it, but I had help with that. Besides, who better to display our worst character defects than the safe haven of Narcotics Anonymous.
Here they are in a nutshell:
1. Refusing addicts access to information by mail, phone, fax, email. This is the issue of placing a record in achives and stating that an addict has to come to region to look at it.
2. The merits of open, honest communication. This refers to hiding information. When WSNAC was picking and chosing what went in the minutes, Region didn't like it. Why does Region think Areas will respond any differently.
3. Experience, the newcomer to service, and faith. This issue refers to the idea that certain positions require certain kinds of experience. In fact, Region passed a motion that you have had to be the RDA for a full term before becoming the RD. We have had good RDs or RSRs in the past that did not serve as RDA or RSRA. This takes choice away from the addict.
4. Since the addict directs the GSR, and the GSRs direct the RCMs, is it really right to be making decisions of nondisclosure of information to the upper eschelon of our organization. This has to do with the inverted pyramid of the service structure, and whether we walk the walk or just talk the talk.
I am hoping a lot of addicts will respond to this post. So, email all your friends.
